The public is invited to the 7th Annual Shop for a Cure scheduled for Thursday, October 6 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Iowa State Bank on Call Street in Algona. This year’s event features fifteen vendors, a bake sale, and a door prize drawing for a gift basket valued at $200. Vendors will fill the main bank lobby and the basement at the Iowa State Bank for the shopping event that benefits the 2012 Kossuth County Relay for Life.
Since 2005 the Pink RibbonCrusaders have hosted this fundrasising event featuring direct sales companies. In addition to the variety of vendors, the event also features a bake sale by Iowa State Bank employees. Vendors include gourmet foods, jewelry, toys, home decor items and more. Participating vendors donate to the Relay based on consumer purchases.
The gift basket door prize will be awarded following the event. The prize features a number of glamorous gifts including restaurant and spa certificates. Several of the vendors will offer cash-and-carry sales. Shopper favorites returning to the vent include: B & B Handmade Products, Lia Sophia, Norwex, Pampered Chef, Purses, Scentsy, Tastefully Simple, Tupperware, Uppercase Living, Usborne Books, and Willow House. Four new vendors include Discovery Toys, Dove Chocolate Discoveries, Purple Pincushion, and Thirty-One Gifts.
“The Shop for a Cure event has become a fundraising tradition for our Relay Team. It’s a great chance for shoppers to get an early start on holiday purchases while supporting the 2012 Relay for Life. One lucky person will take away an amazing gift basket, too!” said Tara Brown, one of the event co-chairpersons. “We anticipate a great crowd and appreciate the community’s support of our Relay fundraiser,” she remarked. This is the seventh year for the event hosted by the Pink Ribbon Crusaders Relay for Life team. The team has participated in every Kossuth County Relay for Life event to date.
