Eighth Annual Shop for a Cure Event October 11

The public is invited to the 8th Annual Shop for a Cure scheduled for Thursday, October 11 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Iowa State Bank on Call Street in Algona. This year’s event features thirteen vendors, a bake sale and a door prize drawing for a gift valued at $200. Vendors will fill the main bank lobby and the basement at the Iowa State Bank for the shopping event that benefits the 2013 Kossuth Co. Relay for Life.

Since 2005 the Pink Ribbon Crusaders have hosted this fundraising event featuring unique and distinct vendors. In addition to the variety of vendors, the event also features a bake sale by Iowa State Bank employees. Vendors include gourmet foods, jewelry, toys, home décor items and more. The Market of Algona will feature their ever-popular Frasier Fir home fragrance line in an early preview for holiday shoppers along with a scarf-tying demonstration. Participating vendors donate to the Relay based on consumer purchases.

Attendees can register for a door prize valued at $200. Several of the vendors will offer cash-and-carry sales. Shopper favorites returning to the event include: B & B Handmade Products, Longaberger, Norwex, Pampered Chef, Purses, Scentsy, Tastefully Simple, Thirty-one Gifts, Tupperware, and Uppercase Living. New vendors include Paparazzi Accessories by Angie, Stella and Dot, and select items from The Market.

“The Shop for a Cure event has become a fundraising tradition for our Relay Team. It’s a great chance for shoppers to get an early start on holiday purchases while supporting the 2013 Relay for Life. Everyone is welcome to stop by. Our bake sale is an irresistible favorite for all ages,” said Tara Brown, one of the event Co-Chairpersons. “We thank the community for their continued support of our Relay fundraiser,” she remarked. This is the eighth year for the event hosted by the Pink Ribbon Crusaders Relay for Life team. The team has participated in every Kossuth County Relay for Life event to date.
