Members of the Iowa State Bank’s Pink Ribbon Crusaders have been searching for treasures for their Eighth Annual Relay for Life Garage Sale scheduled for Friday, May 2 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
The public is invited to shop the garage sale which will be held at the garage located in the employee parking lot of Iowa State Bank at the corner of North Dodge & East North Streets in Algona.
Employees and their families have donated all of the items for the sale. “There are a lot of great household miscellaneous items along with seasonal and home décor. Items are being donated each day. There will be no adult clothing at the sale,” stated Holly Simonson, co-chair of the 2014Pink Ribbon Crusaders. “Our employees donate items all year long for this event,” stated Beth DeGroote, Pink Ribbon Crusaders co-chair. All proceeds will benefit the 2014 Kossuth County Relay for Life.
The garage sale is just one of the Pink Ribbon Crusaders fundraising tactics. Employees also participate in monthly denim days by making a five-dollar contribution to wear blue jeans to work. In addition, the group sells a special parking space, and hosts numerous employee luncheons. The Pink Ribbon Crusaders make fundraising fun. “This is the eighth year of hosting our charity garage sale for the Relay for Life. We are continually amazed at the generosity of our employees and the public’s support of this event,” stated Simonson.
Last year’s Pink Ribbon Crusaders team raised over $6,000 for the event.
